The Evaluation of Scoring Systems in the Electrocardiographic Diagnosis of Left Ventricular Hypertrophy

Abstract
|
|
|
Authors evaluated. A few scoring systems for the electrocardiographic diagnosis of left ventricular hypertrophy in 93 cases of healthy peoples and 74 cases of left ventricular hypertrophy and following results were obtained.
1. By Estes´ scoring system, there were 3.2% of false positive and 5.4% of false negative cases.
2. By Romhilt and Estes´ scoring system, there were 1.1% of false positive and 12.4% of false negative cases.
3. By Skjaeggestad and Kierulf´s scoring system, there were 3.3% of false positive and 8.0% of false negative cases.
4. Scoring systems of electrocardiographic diagnosis of left ventricular hypertrophy were more specific criteria than many criteria of left ventricle hypertrophy. Estes´ scoring system was the specific scoring system of them.
